Situated in the peaceful village of Great Broughton and nestled away behind the owner’s home, Holme End, a detached bungalow, it is the perfect location for guests wishing to enjoy either a quiet break or active sightseeing holiday surrounded by fabulous countryside. It is perfect for walkers, cyclists and ramblers, there are many established walks and public footpaths that lead right through the village along the banks of Broughton Beck and then further along the River Leven towards Stokesley, and further again on into the magnificent surroundings of the North Yorkshire Moors.
The village of Great Broughton is situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Cleveland Hills and is overlooked by the the Wainstones which is a rocky outcrop that is very popular with climbers and definitely worth a visit whatever time of year. There are various local pubs and restaurants, as well as a well-maintained children’s playground which can be easily reached within walking distance, making Holme End the ideal location for guests wishing to leave their car behind.
Just a few minutes away, guests will be able to visit the market town of Stokesley which offers a traditional high street packed with good quality pubs and restaurants, as well as gift shops and antiques rooms. The leisure centre there offers a public swimming pool, with excellent facilities, and there are facilities close by providing a small golf course, driving range and footgolf.
A little further afield but still within a ten mile radius, guests will be able to visit Helmsley, Middlesbrough, Guisborough, Northallerton and Yarm. Local attractions include nearby Great Ayton, many National Trust properties and sites, Captain Cook’s Monument and Roseberry Topping. Guests will find that the trip to the coast is also a very easy drive which takes approximately 45 minutes to reach some of North Yorkshire’s fabulous beaches and coastline. Holme End is the ideal base for couples or families wanting to visit the many local attractions, walkers or friends who like to travel together. Shop ¼ mile, pub serving food 100 yards.
