Surrounded by country walks and excellent eating hostelries, the market towns of Helmsley, Easingwold and Malton are less than 20 minutes’ drive. Pickering is a little further, where you can board the steam train and enjoy fine scenery. The east coast with miles of beaches is easily accessed, the city of York is a 40-minute drive. Shops 2 miles, pub 50 yards.
