This beautiful Grade II listed cottage dates from the late 17th century and is located in a south facing valley with wonderful mature gardens and is surrounded by fields and woodland. The cottage has a welcoming feel, with slate tiles in the kitchen, and a large wood burning stove nestled in a traditional Inglenook fireplace in the lounge. All modern facilities are included, as there is very little mobile phone reception here there is a landline in the property. Lower Tamsquite is a pet friendly property and to explore the walks of Cornwall and the North Coast this really is a superb base. Tamsquite means "bend in the wood" in Cornish and Lower Tamsquite was the original wood cutters cottage, traditionally tenants were allowed to cut down trees to build family homes but not to sell the wood commercially. There are plenty of walks in the surrounding area and as there is very little traffic so the lanes are quite safe, it is a short walk past Tamsquite House and into the village of St Tudy where you can enjoy the church or local pub, whichever takes your fancy! The opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine in the garden while soaking in the rural atmosphere is not to be missed. There are many golf courses within a 10-20 minute drive of Lower Tamsquite. Accommodation Ground floor: Enters into a reception / dining room with separate seating area and access to kitchen with double oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer. A further door leads from the kitchen into the conservatory with sofa and chairs and further access into the lounge with large wood burning stove, this leads back into the original reception / dining room.
