Bellafax Cottage, Marishes Near Pickering

North York Moors. Sleeps up to 4

Pickering 3 miles. This attractive red brick, detached cottage is situated on the owner's working farm, amidst arable farmland, between Pickering and Thornton-le-Dale. In a tranquil and peaceful location, the property is well placed for exploring the beautiful scenery of the North York Moors National Park, but within a short drive of the popular seaside towns of Scarborough and Whitby. Traditionally furnished and decorated, there is a cosy sitting room with a lovely roaring open fire to relax by on the cooler evenings, whilst the separate dining room enables guests to spread out and provides a good selection of books, DVDs and games, ideal for a rainy day. Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms, with views over the open countryside of Ryedale and the family bathroom. To the front of the cottage is an enclosed walled garden, perfect for a morning cuppa before heading off for the day. The popular, historic market town of Pickering lies just three miles away, with its castle, museums and the terminus to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Why not take a step back in time and enjoy a wonderful steam train ride through the spectacular scenery and heather-clad moors to Grosmont? The idyllic and much photographed village of Thornton-le-Dale is a delight, with tempting tea rooms, pubs and independent shops set around the village green and a pretty stream meandering through the main street. There are a wealth of attractions in the area, including stately homes such as Castle Howard and Duncombe Park and beautiful gardens at Scampston and Helmsley. With the coastal resorts just thirty minutes’ drive away, Bellafax Cottage offers something for everyone.
