Princes House, Dorchester

Dorset. Sleeps up to 5

Nestled in the heart of Dorchester, close to a number of shops, restaurants and pubs, is this attractive townhouse, Princes House. Set over three floors, this inviting escape is perfect for a family or group of friends looking to stay within the heart of this historic town. Step inside directly in the open-plan living space, complete in a contemporary style with sleek furnishings throughout, here you can kick back after a long day and enjoy some TV catch-up. At the other end lies a well-appointed kitchen, complete with all the essentials for home-cooking, whilst the dining table can be set for a feast, complimented with a bottle of fizz. Head up to the first floor and discover the first bedroom, housing a double bed and offering a view, with a bathroom next door providing a bath and shower over. Up another set of stairs leads to another double bedroom with views to the rear, plus there is a pretty single room to the front. To the outside of Princes House is an enclosed courtyard where you can enjoy a coffee before heading out an exploring the town. Wander down the traditional high street, filled with well-established retailers and independent businesses, and there’s plenty of restaurants, pubs and takeaways so you’ll have lots of choice when you don’t fancy like cooking. Head to Dorset Museum and take a look at the exhibit on the history and culture of the area, including Iron Age artifacts alongside local fossils, whilst those younger guests will appreciate a visit to the Dorset Teddy Bear Museum. Uncover the rest of Dorset as you hop in the car and drive to Weymouth, a popular seaside town where you can dip your toes in the sea and gaze at the boats in the harbour, whilst attractions such as the SEA LIFE Centre and Fantasy Island make it a worthwhile trip. However you choose to spend your holiday here, Princes House provides a great base.
