Ash Cottage, Willowhayne Farm, Chideock, Bridport

Dorset. Sleeps up to 5

Popular, cosy cottage with great ratings, now under new ownership.

Cosy and well equipped 2 bedroom country cottage, with stunning views, but just 10 minutes walk to the Jurassic coast, the beach at Seatown and the South West Coastal path. There is a choice of three excellent pubs that are all in easy walking distance of Ash Cottage.

Now under new ownership, Ash Cottage is situated in the midst of very quiet and peaceful National Trust farmland. Ash Cottage has French windows in the lounge opening onto a private sunny south-facing patio that borders the large communal lawn that is shared with the other five properties which make up this stone barn conversion. Table, chairs, parasol and a barbeque are all provided for use on the patio. The lawn is edged by a pretty stream and breathtaking views over rolling Dorset hills. It is just a short stroll through the fields to the beach and the renowned Anchor Pub at Seatown. With the Coastal Path on it's doorstep and plenty of walks inland as well, it is a paradise for walkers!

Ash Cottage is a split level, spacious barn conversion with a homely feel. Downstairs it has a lounge / dining area with a well equipped, open plan kitchen. On the upper levels there are two 2 bedrooms and a bathroom that has a bath and over bath power shower. Wifi broadband is throughout the cottage.

The large master bedroom at the rear has wonderful views and offers a king sized bed. Bedroom one at the front of the cottage has a double bed and a single bed. The beds are made up with fresh linen and towels for your stay. The bathroom is on the same level as the master bedroom. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage space.

The kitchen is equipped with electric hob and oven, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and plenty of cooking utensils.

The lounge / dining area has a smart TV, DVD, CD player/radio, comfy chairs, sofa, dining table and chairs. There is a selection of family games and books. French windows open out to the sunny patio which is the perfect position to soak up the scenery and tranquility of the cottage's position.

An iron and ironing board, hairdryers are provided. A travel cot and a high chair are available, but if required, please bring your own bedding for the cot.

There is 1 designated free parking space for 1 car.

One well behaved dog welcome. (A small additional fee is charged). Ash Cottage is a non smoking cottage.

From our cottage, you can walk along the South West Coast Path and climb up Golden Cap, which at 627 feet / 191 metres height, is the highest point on the south coast and has breathtaking views. You can walk through the fields to the beach at Seatown. For the more adventurous, take the Coastal path to West Bay (of Broadchurch TV series fame) to the east, or to Lyme Regis to the west. There is an excellent bus service along the coast for those that prefer the easier option one (or even both!) ways.

The popular seaside town of Lyme Regis is a short drive away and boasts it’s famous fishing harbour and Cobb, where you can walk up Granny’s teeth, if you dare! These are stone steps jutting out for the side of the Cobb’s inner wall. The town and seafront are known for their quaint buildings, sheltered sandy beach and of course, fossil hunting! As well as plenty of independent shops, Lyme Regis also has a theatre, a water mill, gardens, museum and hosts a multitude of events.
