West Milton is a conservation area in an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" and Gore Cottage is listed as being a "Building of Special Architectural Interest Grade II". The countryside is ideal for bird watching and walking. Standing on its own in its own secluded garden on the edge of West Milton, the cottage is stone built with a thatched roof and porch. It sleeps five, plus a cot: upstairs there are two double rooms one with a double bed, the other with two singles, and a single room downstairs, which is the room with the telephone; the compact bathroom (with full sized bath and basin) and separate WC and washbasin are also downstairs. The kitchen is large enough to eat in and there is a separate sitting room with a multi-fuel stove. There is another WC in the thached garden shed.
