Butterfly Cottage is a converted Sunday School. Set in Rossendale, near the historic town of Rawtenstall in East Lancashire. This is a four-bedroomed dwelling is full of character. Nestled to the rear of a former Wesleyan chapel built in 1874, the cottage is just a 0.75-mile level walk from Rawtenstall and is closely situated to everyday amenities and popular countryside walking trails. The cottage invites seven guests, offering flexible sleeping arrangements. The heart of your home is the exceptionally well-equipped kitchen/diner, here you can prepare and enjoy your meals, before heading into the sitting room. Settle down in front of the fire and enjoy scrolling for the latest film offering or a family favourite on the Smart TV. If you'd prefer to gather outside, walk across to the shared garden, boasting a lawned area and ample seating, perfect for an afternoon tipple or a soak in the sunshine. Upstairs you will find four bedrooms, all with Velux windows and sloped ceilings, making sure that your entire party has somewhere to rest their head; the king-size room features an en-suite for privacy, whilst a further shower room is available to service additional guests. Beyond Butterfly Cottage Take a stroll to Rawtenstall and you'll arrive at an abundance of amenities to take advantage of. Surrounding Butterfly Cottage are many places of interest. Set in "The Valley of Stone", explore Rossendale’s rich quarrying history (note the plaque on the front of the chapel). Have a steam train adventure on the East Lancs Railway, visit Whitaker Museum, home to contemporary art and cultural events. A little further afield are The Helmshore Mills Textile Museum, set within a rural environment and showcasing two historic working mills. For lovers of the outdoors, The Panopticons offer art with a fantastic view and brisk walking, perhaps a family picnic. Townley Hall in Burnley with its extensive parkland, art gallery and museum offers a wonderful day out. Climb Holcombe Hill, tour the grounds of Turton Tower, a Grade I listed manor house. The Fusileer Museum in Bury and The Bury Transport Museum are just a short drive away too, why not visit on Wednesday, Friday or Saturday and enjoy Bury's world famous market with its food and drink and many other tantalising stalls with treats galore.
