Former barber’s shop and stationers, James Cottage is an historic period property in the heart of Southwold. This delightful five bedroom home has been recently renovated throughout to provide an outstanding holiday home for ten guests. Perfect for a family get together with the beach and amenities close by, opposite the iconic lighthouse and beautiful paved courtyard garden.
Southwold is a traditional coastal town famous for its pier, lighthouse, pastel coloured beach huts and fabulously fresh seafood! The town has some excellent independent shops, cafes and restaurants, be sure to call in for a pint of the acclaimed Adnams beer in one of the popular pubs. Sleeps: 10 in 5 bedrooms Beds: 1 x double bed, 2 x twin beds, 1 x king size bed.
Accommodation Ground floor: Sitting room: three seater sofa, four seater sofa, coffee table, window seat with cushions. Dining room: table, chairs and bench to sit 10 people. Kitchen: galley style kitchen. Dishwasher, microwave, integrated fridge/freezer, Aeg electric double oven and grill, Aeg induction hob with extractor hood, kickboard heating. Cloakroom: hand basin, WC. Utility Room: condensing tumble dryer, washing machine. Bedroom 1: double bed, built in wardrobe, bedside tables, lamps, wall mounted Sky Q TV with Netflix, half glazed door to courtyard (two shallow steps from the hall into this bedroom) Ensuite shower room: shower cubicle, hand basin, heated towel rail, WC. First floor: Bedroom 2: king (5') sized bed, built in wardrobe, Smart TV with Netflix, bedside tables, lamps. Bedroom 3: twin beds, chest of drawers, bedside tables, lamps. Sky Q TV with Netflix, Bathroom: Jack and Jill style bathroom. Double-ended roll top bath, large glazed shower cubicle with rain head shower, WC, hand basin, heated towel rail. (Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 all have easy access to the bathroom with locks on both doors.) Bedroom 4: twin beds, chest of drawers, hanging rail. Bedroom 5: double bed, bedside tables, lamps, chest of drawers, built in hanging space. Ensuite shower room: shower cubicle, hand basin, heated towel rail and WC. Entertainment: All bedrooms have TVs with Netflix and there is a bluetooth speaker in the kitchen and an Alexa in the house. For Families: travel cot and high chair provided. Outside: paved courtyard garden with door to front of the cottage via the covered passageway, table and chairs. Parking: no private parking. General: WiFi. Bedding and towels provided. Central heating. USB ports throughout. No smoking. Pets: One dog is allowed to be kept off the furniture and on the ground floor only.  Accidental Damage Deposit: you may need to pay an Accidental Damage Deposit or Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver for this property. Where applicable we will contact you in good time before your holiday with further details and to take payment. Notes: please note that whilst there is a ground floor bedroom and shower room, there are some changes in levels between rooms on both the ground and first floor.
