Town: Cayton, a small town and civil parish in North Yorkshire's Scarborough district, is an excellent choice for a beach getaway. There are many hidden treasures in the settlement, which has historical relics from the Second World War, including pillboxes that have been corroded by the sea. The village has a pleasant number of pubs and shops that are ideal for a self-catered stay, but you can find a larger selection of waterfront restaurants in the neighbouring resort town of Scarborough, which is packed with activities for visitors of all ages. Enjoy a day by the sea with a wide range of attractions including amusement arcades, ice cream parlours, seafood shops, and beach huts all nestled around the town's sandy beaches. Discover the area's rich history at Scarborough Castle and the Rotunda Museum of Geology or enjoy a peaceful stroll through Peasholm Park, before setting out out on an even more wonderful outdoor adventure through the North York Moors National Park, which is home to one of the largest stretches of heather moorland. Here, you can find remarkable landscapes, wonderful wildlife, and plenty of heritage delights all scattered around a range of walking and cycling routes for people of all abilities. It is also accessible from Filey, Flamborough, and Malton. A great location, Cayton offers so much to do.
