Within the stately Kinnaird Castle, these three luxuriously appointed apartments offer discerning guest an opportunity for gracious living and can be enjoyed in every season. They are ideal for couples or groups who enjoy outdoor pursuits such as fly fishing, golf and walking, or indeed those just wanting a relaxing break.
Glen Apartment is a wonderfully light and tastefully furnished first and second floor apartment, enjoying delightful views over the front of the castle and the courtyard. With a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living area, it has a contemporary feel and plenty of space to relax in. The huge bathroom is a great sanctuary for a relaxing bath or invigorating shower and the attractive bedroom boasts a lovely comfy bed with crisp sheets. The apartment also has a separate room for laundry, which is ideal for dogs and drying any wet clothes after a day out exploring.
The owner can provide catering packs for the first evening and first morning on request, including a breakfast pack (£10) or a dinner pack (£15). The owner will leave coffees, teas, cereals, farmhouse bread, butter, marmalade and jams, together with fruit and yogurt in the kitchen, along with bacon and eggs. They can also leave a homemade supper (main course and pudding) for heating up in the apartment.
Lying between the Montrose Basin and Brechin, adjoining the River Southesk, Kinnaird Estate has been in the owners’ family since 1400 and covers some 7,000 acres of low lying land. There is a huge variety of wildlife to be seen, including red squirrels, woodpeckers, owls and ospreys, whilst the river Southesk is home to salmon and even freshwater pearls. Within the immediate grounds of the castle there are many paths laid out for guests, leading to follies and fine views on the way to the river and estate lake. Enjoy a barbecue or a game of tennis on the private court or take a leisurely cycle on one of the many quiet roads which cross through the estate. Beach 7 miles, shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
