Formerly part of the original railway station in the pretty village of Edzell, this gorgeous little cottage has been carefully converted into a high quality and very comfortable holiday accommodation. Set in the grounds of the owner’s property, but also entirely private. There is a lovely enclosed courtyard with decking to the rear, with original wall and cobblestones, accessed from patio doors leading from the bright and welcoming open plan living space. The living room has a cosy wood burner and the kitchen area has all the appliances you need to cook up a storm! The space is enhanced by a vaulted ceiling with gallery on the first floor showcasing the delightful interior.
Just a short walk to Edzell’s quality shops, park and eateries, the cottage is well placed for exploring this wonderful area. Tarfside and Glenesk are good starting points for some excellent walks amongst stunning scenery and diverse wildlife. Travel the length of the Victorian Heritage Trail, passing through Fettercairn with its Gothic Arch and local Distillery (where tours can be taken) up through Cairn o’ Mount and into Royal Deeside, ending at Balmoral Castle; or spend relaxing days at the beaches at Montrose and St Cyrus just 14 miles away. There is ample fishing and golf in the area including the well respected Edzell Golf course, just along the road from the cottage, or why not visit some of the stately homes, notably Balmoral or Glamis Castle. Located in Brechin, this cottage is on a river. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Sands of St Cyrus and Montrose Basin, while Brechin­ Town House Museum and Caledonian Railway are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids? Consider Dunninald Castle and Gardens and Frostys Fun House. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with ecotours nearby.
