Situated close to the centre of this popular village with a good choice of shops, pubs and restaurants all within a short walk. The surf washed, dune backed sands of Saunton and the nature reserve of Braunton Burrows are approx 2 miles, and further delightful sands and National Trust headlands of Croyde just a mile beyond. Ideally situated for walking or cycling along the Tarka Trail, (cycle hire available in the village) which follows the route of the old railway along the edge of the estuary towards Barnstaple and Bideford.  The historic market town of Barnstaple is less than a 15 minute drive with traditional pannier market, a wide selection of shops and restaurants, and a variety of activities including cinema, bowling, skating, and delightful riverside walks.  Just a further short drive to Exmoor National park with its expanse of  moorland, deeply cut river valleys and spectacular rugged coastline.
