Rivershield is a newly refurbished, first floor apartment set in a quiet lane in the heart of Warkworth, only a few yards from the River Coquet. The property has been tastefully decorated and furnished with your comfort in mind, and provides excellent accommodation for couples or a family wanting to holiday in this quiet pretty village.

Warkworth is a picturesque medieval village enclosed by a loop of the River Coquet and the skyline is dominated by the remains of Warkworth Castle. Owned by English Heritage, it is a popular location for many events throughout the year. This unspoilt village has many interesting shops and galleries along with a selection of tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. Warkworth bay is a mile from the village, dog friendly and offers stunning views of the coastline.

Region: Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

Town: Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.

Located in Morpeth, this apartment is by the sea. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Northumberland Coast and Queen Elizabeth II Country Park, while Alnwick Playhouse and Bailiffgate Museum are cultural highlights. Lilidorei at The Alnwick Garden and Eshott Heugh Animal Park are also worth visiting. Spend some time exploring the area's activities, including golfing.
