A detached cottage, set over three floors, in a clifftop location, a mile from Cockburnspath and eight miles from Dunbar, sleeping eight people in four bedrooms.

The Anchorage is a delightful detached cottage, set over three floors in a clifftop location, a mile from Cockburnspath and eight miles from Dunbar. It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, two of which are first floor doubles, one with an en-suite bathroom, with the other first floor bedroom being a 2’ 6” twin and there’s a second floor double with an en-suite shower room. A further two shower rooms can be found on the first floor and there’s a cloakroom on the ground floor. Also on the ground floor is a kitchen with dining area, a utility room, a sitting room with an open fire and a sun room with a woodburning stove. Outside there is off road parking two cars and a lawned garden to the front with a decked area to the rear. Cockburnspath is a mile away for essential supplies to be purchased in the village shop, whilst Dunbar runs a regular train service to Edinburgh. With beautiful coastline, great walks and access to superb scenery at your fingertips, there is something for everyone at The Anchorage, whatever the season.

Amenities: Oil central heating with open fire and woodburning stove. Electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, iPod dock, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel and power inc in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars with further parking in layby opposite on a first come, first served basis. Lockable bike storage. Enclosed front lawned garden with enclosed rear decked area. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 1 mile, pub 2 miles. Note: Mobile phone reception at the property is variable. Note: There is a low wall to the rear with fencing and a steep drop, care to be taken and children and pets to be supervised. Note: Reduced head height on the stairs to the second floor and in the second floor bedroom and en-suite. Note: There are small steps to access each room on the ground floor and changes of levels on the first floor. Note: Check-in 5pm. Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Town: Cockburnspath is a small, beautiful and untouched village, situated just inland of the North Sea coast. A perfectly serene base for surfers, cyclists and walkers, the breathtakingly-beautiful beach at Pease Bay is less than two miles away and the Southern Upland Way, Scotland’s longest official Long Distance Path, terminates here at the village’s thistle-covered cross. The village offers a village shop and a Post Office whilst Dunbar, eight miles away offers a selection of pubs and train service to Edinburgh.

Located in Cockburnspath, this cottage is in a rural area and by the sea. Berwickshire Coastal Path and Southern Upland Way - Section C Trailhead are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit East Links Family Park and Coldingham Priory. Eyemouth Museum and Eyemouth Maritime Centre are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling and hiking nearby.
