Enveloped by rolling countryside hills and perched by the owner's farm, this ground-floor cottage makes a wonderful escape for a family of eight and their canine companions. Park up at the foot of the property, where the spacious driveaway allows up to three cars, making unloading the vehicle an easy task. Step through the ruby red door into the entrance hallway, here you can kick off your walking boots, ready for an outdoor adventure. Discover the bright and sunny sitting room, hosting a crackling woodburning stove and two plush sofas to unwind on as you flicker through the TV with Freeview. There is also a collection of DVDs, so why not have a movie marathon? Moving through the property, you will find the fitted kitchen/ diner, with white-washed cupboards and an electric oven and hob to rustle up tasty dishes. Pack your hiking gear and ramble the untamed landscape of Shaw Craig, stroll around Whitelee Moor National Nature Reserve and absorb history at Carter Bar Boundary Marker. Take a short drive into the heart of Jedburgh to marvel at the remains of its Abbey, view the 15th century Ferniehirst Castle and learn about the tragedy of the Queen at Mary Queen of Scots' Visitors Centre. Venture a little further afield to the market town of Kelso, where you can walk along the River Tweed, tour an 18th century castle and to fuel your adventure there are a cluster of eateries to choose from.
