Landing a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters, the large fishing boats which moor along the harbour wall stock the local harbour fish shop meaning that visitors can enjoy a variety of freshly caught seafood. With the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and the country park at Druridge Bay, this is an excellent spot for bird watchers and nature lovers. Coquet Island - an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks â is also very close by and boat trips can be arranged.
