River Cottage Hayfield is a semi-detached property situated within the village of Hayfield. It houses four bedrooms, comprising of a king-size bed (zip/link beds, can be made into twins) with an en-suite shower, basin and WC, a twin bedroom (zip/link beds, can be made into a king-size), a second-floor king-size (zip/link, can be made into a twin) and a second-floor twin, together sleeping up to eight people. On the first floor there is a family bathroom with a shower over bath, basin and WC. Completing the interior is a kitchen/diner and a sitting room. Outside, there is a patio which overlooks the river with table and chairs. River Cottage Hayfield is a superb base for exploring this part of the Peak National Park.

Region: The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: The delightful High Peak village of Hayfield is situated in a wonderful rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak National Park. It’s a peaceful little village, popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away. The village caters well for tourists with pubs, cafes and restaurants. Other local attractions include the Goyt Valley, Castleton – with its famous caverns - and the popular spa town of Buxton.

Located in High Peak, this cottage is in a rural area. New Mills Golf Club and Stockport Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Peak District National Park and Chadkirk Estate Country Park. Traveling with kids? Consider Chestnut Centre Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park, or check out an event or a game at Church Lane. Practice your golf swing on a nearby course, or enjoy other activities in the great outdoors, such as cycling and hiking in the area.
