Nearby Rothbury has a great variety of services, such as an exceptional golf club, The Queens Head, a convenience store, and the highly regarded National Trust property of Cragside, with expansive formal gardens, a bunkhouse, and a power house. Visit Northumberland National Park to take advantage of the area's many hiking and biking trails, including the Simonside Hills, Billsmoor Park, Grasslees Wood, and the route to Kielder Water. Alnwick is located further out and is home to the Baliffgate Museum and the Aln Valley Railway in addition to the world-famous Alnwick Castle, which was featured in the Harry Potter film series.
