Apple Tree Cottage, Warnham

West Sussex. Sleeps up to 5

This chocolate-box cottage sits in the quiet village of Warnham, just three miles from the traditional market town of Horsham. Renovated to a high standard while keeping in with the age of the property, Apple Tree Cottage is a lovely escape for families and friends to West Sussex. As soon as you enter this cosy abode you will notice the striking character features, including the flagstone flooring, original inglenook fireplace and exposed beams, creating a warming ambiance that you can return to each evening. Move into the dining room, a light and airy space uplifted by the vaulted ceilings and patio doors, here you can gather for a tasty home-cooked meal or local takeaway. The kitchen comes amply equipped with the essentials, including a double oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine and a fabulous centre island. There’s also an alluring woodburner keeping you toasty during those colder periods. Climb the original open staircase to reach the bedrooms, each filled with period features and offering a king-size with zip/link beds, a double and a single. Wash away the day with a lazy soak in the bath or rejuvenate yourself with a shower. Externally, there is a lovely, enclosed garden space with water feature and patio area with furniture, perfect for alfresco meals on a balmy evening. Fifty yards away lies a traditional pub, The Greets Inn, where you can tuck into traditional British grub and sample a selection of ales. Hop in the car and take the short drive to Horsham, a picturesque market town where you can browse a range of independent shops as you look for a gift to take home, before choosing a well-established restaurant for a fine meal. The surrounding region is well worth exploring, particularly for those walkers and cyclists, with the delightful flora and fauna at Warnham Nature Reserve, High Weald AONB, South Downs National Park and Surrey Hills AONB all nearby. Days by the coast can be enjoyed in Brighton and Worthing, which are easily accessible by car. However you choose to spend your time, Apple Tree Cottage is a homely base while adventuring this region of Sussex.
