Set in the heart of Ripon, just outside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is this charming, single-storey, mid-terrace cottage, 3 Westgate Mews. Perfect as a romantic retreat or a base for a solo traveller, this enchanting cottage offers a garden with seating and a quaint interior, while being a stone's throw away from the local amenities. Arriving at the cottage, make your way through the garden and into the home where you will come across the snug/dining area, complete with a piano and a selection of books, providing you with an alternative evening of entertainment. From here, the kitchen has all you need to cook hearty meals to fuel your days out, as well as a sitting area with a TV, for when it is time to unwind. Moving through the cottage, the double bedroom invites you to rest your head before another adventurous day, while the bathroom is there for freshening up after a day of walking, or before you pop out to one of the local restaurants. Outside, be sure to take advantage of the garden space, home to a bistro set so you can dine alfresco in the warmer months. When you are ready to explore, why not make your way down to the Workhouse Museum, set in a restored Victorian workhouse, or if you want to make the most of the weather, enjoy a picnic in the nearby Ripon Spa Gardens. A scenic car journey will take you to Harrogate, beautiful town with plenty of things to do in the area, including visiting the Valley Gardens, Mother Shipton's Cave, and Killinghall Moor Country Park; you can also enjoy a day of pampering at one of the town's many spas, such as the Turkish Baths Harrogate. Further afield, you can head into the city of York for a day of shopping or make your way towards the coast for a day at the popular resorts of Whitby and Scarborough.
