Storm Cottage, Whitby

North Yorkshire. Sleeps up to 2

Hidden away down one of the back alleys on the east side of the harbour, this tiny 250 year old Grade II listed building is featured in one of Frank Sutcliffe's photographs and is a reminder of life in Whitby in times gone by. Close to the 199 steps leading to the Abbey and St. Mary's Parish Church, the Ghaut is a quiet backwater in this bustling part of the old town. Recently refurbished, the owners frequently use this cottage themselves and consequently it retains a welcoming and homely feel. The terraced cottage is on three floors and was once part of a larger building but is now completely self contained. From Church Street turn left into New Way Ghaut; after a few yards on your right is the entrance to the passageway leading to the cottage.

Accommodation:
You enter the cottage from New Way Ghaut. From the entrance you step into a fitted kitchen/diner. A steep spiral staircase leads up to a small cosy lounge. A second spiral staircase leads up to a bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. Views of the harbour across the rooftops.

Services:
Fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, gas cooker with grill and oven, dishwasher. Colour TV/DVD, radio, gas central heating. Bed linen is provided. Non-smokers only. Sorry, no pets.

Availability: all year - no short breaks

Please note this property does not allow bookings over the weekends of 26-30th April 2012 or 1st-5th November 2012
