Apartment One, Duncannon, County Wexford

County Wexford. Sleeps up to 4

This delightful, ground-floor apartment is situated in the bustling village of Duncannon, just 15 miles from the attractions of New Ross in County Wexford. Delightfully furnished throughout, Apartment One is a homely base for small families and a romantic retreat for couples. Set entirely across the ground floor, there are two charming bedrooms, including a double and twin served by a bathroom where you can enjoy a soothing soak after a day of rambles. The open-plan living space is where all can come together to discuss the day’s adventures, whilst the chef of the group gets to the terms in the kitchen, making use of the many appliances to prepare a filling feast. When the weather is nice, lounge in the patio area with a favourite drink in hand, or head to Duncannon beach, a wonderful golden stretch which is the perfect place to spend the day swimming and sunbathing. If you fancy a night off cooking then Duncannon has several eateries to try, including a series of bars, pubs and restaurants that suit all tastes. The village welcomes many visitors each year, as it is situated on the scenic Ring of Hook, and one a year the Duncannon Sand Sculpting Festival provides a fantastic day out where you can witness some remarkable sand castle creations. Walkers will be eager to explore the Hook Peninsula where you can see some breathtaking views and landmarks including the world’s oldest working lighthouse, which was constructed in the 12th century, while history buffs will be drawn to the beautiful Tintern Abbey and Loftus Hall, which is believed to be one of Ireland’s most haunted houses. Whatever your age or taste, there is something for everyone when staying at Apartment One.
