Kirriemuir is known as the 'Gateway to the Glens' and makes an excellent base for exploring Angus. RSPB reserve Loch of Kinnordy is home to many wetland birds, viewable from hides and boardwalks. 5 miles from Kirriemuir is Glamis Castle, childhood home of the late Queen Mother, the castle is open to the public.
