The Alnwick Garden is home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, along with an enormous treehouse, and an ornamental garden. Catch a show at Alnwick Playhouse, or browse the huge selection of books in Barter Books, one of the UK's largest second-hand bookshops. Discover Warkworth Castle resting on the River Coquet just before it meets the sea, afterwards heading along the coast southwards to the delightful town of Amble which has its own beautiful beach as well as offering boat trips to see amazing wildlife like puffins and seals. The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which was used for the setting of 'The Heist' season two, provides a long stretch of gorgeous coastline to explore, so make sure to bring your walking boots and your camera for all of the fantastic landscapes to be seen. While you're in the area, take a drive towards the famous Bamburgh Castle, a Grade I listed building with audio tours of the state rooms, showcasing a wealth of history.
