There are some enjoyable walks near the lodge, including a climb to the top of Brentor, a favourite with visitors for its rewarding views. Tavistock has a good range of shops and some renowned restaurants and pubs, while the slopes of Dartmoor nudge the town, making the area very popular with avid amblers for a rewarding pint following an afternoon ramble. National Route 27 of the National Cycle Network is just 3 miles away at Tavistock, taking you mainly off-road all the way to Okehampton station, with some spectacular views along the way. With National Trust properties, outstanding gardens in the area, a choice of six golf courses within just a scenic car journey and sandy beaches too, Lodge 11 is the ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of Devon.
