Resting in the pretty village of Winston, in County Durham, England, is this delightful stone cottage. The interior décor boasts a lovely modern theme, with period features such as the stone fireplace in the sitting room giving the property that country-style feeling. Winston village is centred between the market towns of Barnard Castle, Richmond, Darlington and Bishop Auckland. 4 miles away is the impressive Raby Castle with it's walled gardens, tea room and gift shop surrounded by a 200 acre deer park. A further 8 miles along the road takes you to Bishop Auckland where the spectacular open air live show 'Kynren' takes place every summer. A 10 minute drive and you reach Barnard Castle with its Grade 1 Castle, the majestic Bowes Museum as well as a golf course, sports centre, tea shops and pubs. Darlington, 10 miles, boasts a recently renovated theatre, a new entertainment cinema complex and the railway museum Head of Steam. Picturesque Richmond, 12 miles, with its Norman Castle standing overlooking the River Swale is the gateway to The North Yorkshire Dales.
