Yr Hen Efail is a wonderful property teaming with character and history and was originally the Smithy which served the village of Abergorlech. Now a lovely holiday cottage, it has retained much if its original charm. As you enter this property you are instantly drawn to the many features of a bygone era.

The charming village of Abergorlech lies alongside the River Cothi and is complete with a local pub, specializing in home cooked local produce, open all year round. The Abergorlech woodland trail runs from the doorstep and offers the perfect romantic stroll or hike, where you are sure to see a host of birds and wildlife.

Yr Hen Efail is set next door to the owner’s home and offers the perfect base from which to discover this stunning area. Once you step inside the spacious living room, complete with vaulted beamed ceiling, wood floors and focal wood burner, you will feel instantly relaxed. Enjoy resting your weary legs in front of the wood burner with a glass of wine after a busy day exploring.

The beamed, galley-style kitchen even has the original stable doors along with a Belfast sink - the perfect place to cook that special meal for your loved one. On the first floor the bedroom offers everything needed for a good night’s sleep with exposed stone walls, beamed ceiling and original loft hatch overlooking the living room down below. Just 10 yards from the property you will find a private seating area on the banks of the River Cothi.

The market town of Llandeilo, a 20-minute drive away, is well worth a visit, where you can stroll around this historic town. Enjoy meandering around antique and gift shops and enjoy a coffee in one of the local coffee shops. A few minutes’ from here is the National Botanical Gardens of Wales with Europe’s largest single span glass house, sure to make for an interesting day out. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 40 yards.
