The vast Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park) is just under ten miles away and offers a wealth of walking trails to enjoy, including The Beacons Horseshoe, The Route of The Romans and The Black Mountain of the West. Head to the National Trust Nature Reserve Dinefwr and visit Dinefwr Castle where the 12th century remains reside on a hilltop and offer panoramic view of the valley below, with walks along the River Towy offering a pleasant afternoon activity. Those who are green-fingered will love to see the beautiful Aberglasney, one of Wales' finest gardens, as well as the National Botanic Garden of Wales with a wonderful tropical glasshouse designed by Norman Foster surrounded by formal gardens, woodland and lakes, it's a picturesque setting for anyone to enjoy.
