Willow Tree Cottage is a fabulous semi-detached holiday home in the heart of Cark-in-Cartmel, within walking distance of two traditional country pubs, a shop and the town of Flookburgh. You can leave your car behind and enjoy everything this wonderful village has to offer.
The open plan living area, with modern kitchen and breakfast area, living room and wood burner creates a really cosy atmosphere for you and your family and friends. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom. There is also a utility room on the lower ground floor with access through the back door.
Just a short walk down the road is the traditional Cumbrian village of Flookburgh, hosting many local shops and two local pubs it is a great place to visit close by. Flookburgh is just 6 miles from Lakeside which sits at the southern tip of Lake Windermere. Lakeside, along with Newby Bridge, is home to the Aquarium of the Lakes, Lake Windermere cruises and Haverthwaite Railway.
A few minutes’ drive away is the fabulous village of Cartmel, famous for its sticky toffee pudding and racecourse, a must see place on your holiday itinerary! Further down the road is the Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands, here you will find boutique cafes and shops and why not take a stroll down the promenade and enjoy the sea view? A little further afield you have Windermere, Kendal, Coniston and Hawkshead, all providing an abundance of outdoor activites, shopping, places to eat and attractions.
Based in the South Lakes the cottage is a great base as a gateway into Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Lancashire; you’ll be spoilt for choice for places to visit. Beach 18 miles. Shop 100 yards, pub 120 yards and restaurant 180 yards.
