Oak Cottage is a comfortable, spacious, light and airy modern holiday home set within the Cairngorm National Park. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of the village of Kincraig, the house has a large enclosed garden with an oak wood that enjoys red squirrel visitors.

A perfect base to explore and enjoy the rivers, wetlands, lochs, forests, mountains and abundant wildlife within the area. A gate from the back garden leads onto the Speybank and Badenoch Way. There are many scenic walking, road cycling and mountain biking routes within a short distance of the house. A great base for the numerous pursuits and activities found in the Cairngorms - winter skiing, snowboarding, sledging, walking, cycling, climbing, fishing, wild swimming, canoeing, sailing, golfing and more.

Kincraig has a friendly local bar within walking distance of the house.
A popular, charming cafe and gallery, serving delicious treats is just a few hundred metres from Oak Cottage.

The town of Kingussie, offering a good selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants is 6 miles away and Aviemore town, the hub for outdoor pursuits is 6 miles away.

Recently added a modern new extension giving our guests a fabulous, luxurious and spacious living area to relax and fully unwind from busy outdoor adventures. Perfect for multi generational family get togethers.

The ground floor includes:

An entrance vestibule for storing outdoor wear leading into a spacious welcoming hallway.

A recently updated well-equipped shaker style kitchen with all the mod cons, including an induction hob, double oven, integrated oven and separate microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, under-counter fridge, wine fridge and nespresso coffee machine.
The kitchen island incorporates a sociable seating area with four bar stools.
The dining area of the kitchen includes a table that comfortably seats 9 people.

The spacious open plan living area includes a deep and cosy four seater sofa and two Scandinavian style armchairs situated around a coffee table and wood-burning stove. A wonderful space from where to enjoy the views of the oak garden.

Sliding doors lead onto a large south-west facing sunny patio with outdoor seating, dining table, BBQ and chiminea.

The kitchen leads onto a separate sitting room : a cosy room with open fire, smart TV with freeview channels, DVD player, Bluetooth speaker for music and comfortable seating.

Bedroom 1: King size bedroom with bedside cabinets and ample storage within a built in wardrobe. Bedroom 2: Twin single beds with a bedside table, built in wardrobe and small cabinet. Shower room and separate WC. Utility with washing machine, tumble dryer and sheila maid for air-drying.

The upstairs includes:

Bedroom 3: Master Bedroom with King size bed, bedside cabinets, built in wardrobe and en-suite (shower, WC and sink plus under floor heating).

Bedroom 4: Small Single room with bedside table and chest of drawers. Bedroom 5: Twin beds with bedside tables and large built in wardrobe.

Bathroom: including bath, WC, shower and sink plus under floor heating.
Hairdryers are provided in each bedroom.

Other:

Enclosed garden, garage with an outdoor table tennis table plus bats & balls, option to store bikes on storage racks in the back garden or in the garage, private parking for up to 3 cars. Board games and a selection of books available. Wi-Fi. bed linen, towels (one hand and bath per person) and logs included. No extra costs.

Travel cot is provided (but not cot bedding - guests to provide), highchair. Note the back garden has a bank with a drop (shown in photo) so supervision of young children recommended when in this part of the garden.

Located in Kingussie, this vacation home is in a rural area and on a river. Strathspey Steam Railway and Highland Folk Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Kingussie Golf Club and Spey Valley Golf Course. Traveling with kids? Consider Highland Wildlife Park and Speyside Wildlife. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
