Less than an hour’s drive away lies the National Park’s Kylemore Abbey and Connemara. Ideal for walking enthusiasts and a cyclist’s paradise, this area of Mayo has some of the most amazing scenery and walks around the quiet roadways, woods, hills, mountains and lakes, such as the Maam Turks and Lough na Fooey. The owner has put together a booklet with recognised walking routes in the area. Joyce Country, the Connemara National Park and Westport are all within easy reach, whilst the county town of Castlebar, with its range of amenities, shopping and restaurants, is 18 miles away. A lovely lake beach with picnic area is nestled just a mile away and is perfect for a family day out with your children. Fishing, boat hire and gillies available locally.
