Bluebell Wood Cottage is a delightful semi-detached cottage set in a peaceful rural location in beautiful woodland gardens with a stream meandering through. In spring, as the name suggests, the woodland is carpeted in bluebells and is just stunning! Inside, the cosy cottage is the ideal romantic getaway just for the two of you. The sitting room with its roaring open fire boasts a comfortable reclining sofa, perfect to cosy up watching a film on the large curved TV, whilst upstairs there is a bedroom with a sumptous bed and exposed beams. The cottage is set in a small hamlet just a mile from the ancient village of Cartmel with its village square, cobbled streets and the 12th-century Cartmel Priory. Situated on the market square is Cartmel village shop famous for its sticky toffee pudding.
If you are lucky enough to be staying at Bluebell Wood Cottage on race days, don’t miss a trip to Cartmel Racecourse, one of the smallest and most picturesque in the country and home to the highly popular steeplechase meetings. Cartmel offers a fantastic choice of highly regarded restaurants and pubs including the Michelin starred L’Enclume. Cartmel lies between the Lake District National Park and Morecambe Bay and whilst the tranquillity of Bluebell Wood Cottage and Cartmel itself will keep you occupied, it is also the perfect location for exploring the wider area. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
