Mays Cottage, St Issey

Cornwall. Sleeps up to 8

This superb, semi-detached cottage sits on the edge of St Issey, a lovely village handy for the nearby Camel Trail and 3 miles from the attractive harbour town of Padstow. Attention to detail and flair, coupled with oak beams and thick, knobbly walls, has given this delightful property a rustic French feel but with every modern comfort for putting families at their ease. On the ground floor a sitting room with cosy wood burning stove and those characterful beams and uneven walls where all the family can relax and plan the day’s activities. The smart, well-equipped kitchen leads to the lovely big, light and bright conservatory cum dining area, perfect for relaxed gatherings over a tasty supper. There’s the added bonus of a very smart ground floor bathroom. Up on the first floor are three smart bedrooms, a king size double with en suite shower room, a twin with a walk-in wardrobe and en suite shower room, and a room with two sets of bunk beds. The pretty, large enclosed sunny garden boasts two patio areas with garden furniture for enjoying the sunshine and a large lawned area. There’s a handy warm, outdoor shower, perfect for washing down sandy children and dogs, and drying facilities for wetsuits in the garage. Head for a soothing pint in the local village pub or venture further afield to the Camel Trail (great for walkers, cyclists and riders alike), or the bustling shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in Padstow. If you're feeling more adventurous, it’s a short drive to the great sand and surf beaches around Trevose Head and fabulous cliff walks at Bedruthan Steps. A gem of a cottage in a stunning area.
