It is also within easy walking of a selection of restaurants, shops, pubs and other attractions. If you are bringing your four-legged friends along, a large dog crate is available on request.

East Cowes beach and esplanade is a short distance away with a quiet shingle and sand beach offering fantastic views across to West Cowes and its marina. There is a great variety of vessels regularly moving through the Solent, and this is a great vantage point for watching boats and yachts. The beach is also good for family swimming and is tucked away behind the town. It’s a great beach to visit if you are looking for somewhere a bit quieter, the access road runs the length of the beach behind the sea wall with a wooded area to the rear, perfect for walks. There is also an adventure playground and paddling pool for the little ones.

With over 200 miles of cycle routes across the Isle of Wight, cyclists will love the scenic route including small idyllic lanes or coastal routes such as the Military Road, affording visitors sensational views of the coastline. Walkers can enjoy over 500 miles of well-maintained footpaths, and the island is a joy for photographers and artists, with stunning subjects to capture around every corner.

The neighbouring town of Cowes is well known by sailors who come from all over the globe for Cowes Week, the Round the Island Yacht Race and many other sailing events. Further attractions nearby include Osborne House, the favourite holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, now owned by English Heritage, and is just a 5-minute drive away from the property. ’It is impossible to imagine a prettier spot,’ such were the words of Queen Victoria after her first visit to Osborne House, and is well worth a visit.

Alternatively why not pay a visit to Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, or Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or any of the seaside towns of Ryde, Shanklin, Sandown or Yarmouth. Whatever you decide, one thing is for sure, the Isle of Wight has plenty to offer. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
