Awel Y Cwm, meaning valley breeze, is a spacious detached holiday home with lovely views from the large conservatory. There’s a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast table, living room, utility room and ground floor toilet, and the conservatory has a sofa and chairs as well as a large dining table. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The gardens wrap round the house and there’s a patio with garden furniture. Situated just 7 miles inland from the beautiful Ceredigion coastline, it really is a great base from which to explore this amazing part of Wales and pretty New Quay, Aberaeron and Cardigan are all within easy reach.
The region has a thriving cultural identity and the beautiful beaches (many dog friendly all year round) are a must to visit. There are sandy coves, sea cliffs, caves, magnificent wildlife and spectacular sunsets and starry skies, undisturbed by light pollution. At New Quay you can take a boat trip out into the bay to see the bottlenose dolphins; regular visitors here. From the sea you’ll admire the colourful houses clinging to the rocks above the bay and appreciate why this place was such an inspiration to poet Dylan Thomas when he lived here. Enjoy an ice cream or fish and chips and watch the boats bobbing about. If you enjoy a good walk, there are 60 miles of coastal path to choose from! The attractive Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is also well worth a visit and further up the coast you will come to Aberystwyth with its promenade and pier, and do take the cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill for the most magnificent views. You can also catch the Vale of Rheidol steam railway from Aberystwyth that will take you inland to Devil’s Bridge and Falls. The castle and visitor centre at Cardigan is 30 minutes by car and situated on the Teifi Estuary, or visit Cilgerran Castle where events are held in season. You will be spoilt for choice for places to explore and roads are never congested, beaches never crowded, the air is fresh and clean and the welcome is always friendly. Beach 7 miles. Shop 275 yards, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
