Lower Moor Lodge, Hay-On-Wye

Herefordshire. Sleeps up to 4

Lower Moor Lodge is a picture book lodge full of character, built in the early Victorian era, now over two hundred years old and was originally the Lodge Gate House to Lower Moor Manor situated on the edge of the famous literary town of Hay-on-Wye.

This slightly quirky old cottage has lots of delightful period features including flagstone floors, oak beams, oak doors and floor boards (which probably creak) and the doors do not fit as well as modern doors. In places there is low headroom and possibly some uneven floors and steps. So possibly for anyone with difficult mobility it may not be the right cottage.

Outside there is the most attractive Queen Anne style leaded-light windows, old original slates, decorative barge boarding and a long low over-hung porch.

This quirky holiday self catering cottage that is happy to welcome dogs is just a five minutes stroll into Hay-on-Wye or down to The River Wye on The Herefordshire/Wales Borders.
