Rhos Barn, a traditional Welsh Barn adjacent to the owners’ farmhouse but with its own private and secluded garden, is set within a 100-acre farm in the rolling countryside of Carmarthenshire. This detached barn conversion has been tastefully renovated and provides stylish and quirky holiday accommodation for up to eight people, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The barn has been very sympathetically converted to ensure it retains its characterful features from the beams to the lovely cosy wood burner in the tastefully furnished living room. There’s a comfortable ground floor bedroom with en-suite shower room which is also accessible via a ‘Jack and Jill’ door to the living space. The bedrooms on the first floor are accessed from the staircase leading from the living room up to a mezzanine area with comfy chairs for relaxing with a good book! Across a little “bridge” from the mezzanine is a twin room with an en-suite toilet and basin, and the remaining two bedrooms (both en-suite) are off the main landing. The kitchen/dining room is a great social space with a wonderful cushioned window seat looking out across the courtyard to the farmland beyond. It’s a great place to gather and chat and drink whilst dinner is being prepared! The fully enclosed garden has the added bonus of a hot tub and a separate garden entertainment room with pool table, darts and ample space to relax in. There is also a further paddock within the grounds where you can enjoy outdoor games, and a cabin with additional children’s games and toys.
The National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines are 3 miles away and are well worth a visit; tours are available year round. Walks and cycling in the beautiful Brechfa Forest are within easy reach, as are the Brecon Beacons. Llandeilo, with its array of chic shopping and cafés and restaurants, is close by. Lovers of gardens will enjoy visiting Aberglasney or the National Botanical Garden of Wales with its huge glass dome - perfect for exploring at any time of the year. Horse riding and fishing is available nearby and the glorious coastline of Cardigan Bay can be reached in well under an hour. In the most wonderful rural setting, but with so much within easy reach, Rhos Barn is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday and you will feel right at home. Shop 11 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
