A perfect retreat for active couples who enjoy cycling, canoeing and hiking, or for those who are just in search of picturesque settings, quiet walks and visits to the local pub. Set in the pretty riverside village of Calstock, in the heart of the Tamar Valley (a quiet area of Cornwall close to the border with Devon). It is a great base from which to explore many areas, including the market town of Tavistock, Dartmoor with rugged tors, rural mid Cornwall, or even the sweeping beaches on the north and south Cornish coastlines. There is a public slipway into a tidal river available in the village. A local motorcycle festival takes place in the village during the first weekend in August each year. Shop and pub ¼ mile.
