Couples and family bookings only. There is a stream in the grounds, 10 yards (winter only). . Nestling in a secluded and private setting, close to the Norman church, Stable Cottage dates back to the 1860s and was lovingly converted to provide inviting and contemporary holiday accommodation of a high standard. Stable Cottage overlooks a seasonal chalk stream that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and you will be able to watch the abundant wild life from your own private decking or through the generous windows of the open-plan living room.
This delightful converted stable block is an ideal base for exploring the beauty of the Yorkshire Coast, the Wolds and North Yorkshire, with its Dales and Moors.
Explore the heritage coastline and the resorts of Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough and Whitby – birthplace of Captain James Cook. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton is well worth a visit where you could see puffins in their natural habitat. Catch the steam train from Pickering to Whitby stopping at Goathland, home to the ’Heartbeat’ TV programme. York is only a short 27 miles away, enabling you to easily enjoy the history and charm of this amazing city; amongst its many tourist attractions, its majestic minster stands proudly in the centre. Lots of shopping, museums, restaurants and theatres, as well as the excellent open top tourist buses and river boats. The quaint town of Beverley, 13 miles away, boasts a glorious Gothic minster, a lively racecourse and numerous interesting shops, inns and restaurants. Yorkshire’s ’foody capital’, Malton, is only a 20-minute drive with an abundance of independent deli’s, interior design shops and eateries, this beautiful market town is a must visit destination.
Visit the country houses at Burton Agnes, Sledmere, Castle Howard and Sewerby Hall; Castle Howard’s Christmas experience is one of the very best in the country. There is golf nearby and ideal terrain for cycling. The market town of Driffield, 2 miles, caters for all daily needs with a wide range of independent shops, restaurants and supermarkets.
