This superb, detached bungalow benefits from spacious living accommodation, which includes a lovely conservatory overlooking the large garden. Ideal for families who love the outdoors, there are some excellent walks in the area and a recreation park in the village. The canal in Chirk is part of the World Heritage site and is just five minutes’ walk away from the property and extends for approximately 11 miles. You can walk or cycle along the canal into Llangollen, via the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, or head in the other direction towards another of Thomas Telford’s famous aqueducts and viaduct at Chirk.
Located within a conservation area, Chirk is a charming little town and offers a variety of takeaways, pubs, tea rooms, an award-winning Indian restaurant, small supermarket, bakers, butchers, greengrocers, pharmacy and a post office, as well as a couple of churches and a local library which offers free internet access. Local buses will take you into Wrexham, Chester, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Llangollen. The train station is within a few minutes’ walk and offers services to almost anywhere in the UK. Chirk is just one hour from Manchester airport, making it ideal for overseas visitors.
Visit National Trust’s Chirk Castle, Erddig and Powys Castle. Local events throughout the year include the international Eisteddfod in Llangollen during July. Or visit Chester Zoo and the Roman city of Chester. Those wanting the beach can head to the charming Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno, approximately one hour 15 minutes, and water sports lovers will enjoy Bala lake. Other activities available locally include golf, cycling, horse riding and fishing. With so much to see and do, Apple Garth is perfect for exploring North Wales and beyond.
