Explore the town’s narrow lanes, old buildings and a 12th century Norman church, restored in 1886. You are also well placed for walking direct from the door on Wainwright’s favourite Howgill Fells, which have the spectacular Cautley Spout waterfall, one of the highest in England. Sedbergh is well-placed between the Pennines, the Lake District and Morecambe Bay, while Windermere and the limestone area of the Yorkshire Dales are a short drive away.
