The North Foreland Golf Club clubhouse is 1 mile away and there are three pub/restaurants within walking distance. Guests can enjoy the local beach, just a short walk (ramp access available) from Hideaway Cottage, plus explore Viking Bay and its coastal walk. Folk week is a popular summer festival held each year in Broadstairs, attracting bands and acts from across the country during the week-long celebration. There are a number of other events held throughout the year including the Dickens Week, a food festival and a water gala. Margate provides an excellent day out for all the family. There are sandy beaches lined with cafes and shops and ’Dreamland’, the UK’s original pleasure park full of traditional rides and themed festivals perfect for kids. For adults the internationally acclaimed Turner Contemporary showcases both old and modern works from the renowned artist who so loved this stunning seascape. Canterbury is the must see city in Kent, explore the famous cathedral and walk along the historic city walls, take a stroll down the cobbled streets and shop in the local boutique stores. Day trips to London and France are easily accessible from Kent with high speed trains, Eurostar services and ferry crossings. Beach ¼ mile. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
