This detached cottage is perfectly situated just outside Penybontfawr, a quiet village that lies between the Berwyn Mountains and the Hirnant Forest, just a short distance from both Lake Vyrnwy and Lake Bala. The front of the property has been designed with full height glass windows to take in the stunning views across the Hirnant Valley. Inside the layout is well thought-out with everything you would expect from a high end property, a cosy wood burner for when the winter time kicks in, and full underfloor heating. Both bedrooms have panoramic windows and luxury en-suites, and outdoor the seating areas and private hot tub on the enclosed, raised terrace are positioned to make the most of the beautiful vista.
All areas of mid and north Wales are easily accessible from this point. The Snowdonia National Park starts on top of the Berwyns, and easy day trips include a white water rafting centre, sailing at Lake Bala, the mountain biking centre, Bounce Below, and Zip World at Blaenau Ffestiniog. Betws-y-Coed is slightly further afield. Medieval Powys Castle (National Trust) in Welshpool is a 30-minute drive and has a world-famous garden, or visit the charming town of Montgomery, a 45-minute drive, which offers beautiful scenery and walks. The west Wales coastline is around an hours’ drive with sandy beaches. Shropshire can be reached in 20 minutes’ and Cheshire in 40 minutes’, where you will find go-karting, paintballing, quad trekking and Chester Racecourse.
