Now it is a comfy and cosy holiday home, and with excellent access into Edinburgh via the bus service which runs frequently to the city centre, (nearest bus stop just 2 minutes’ walk away, 10 minutes from Penicuik centre at night), holidaymakers can be exploring the city’s delights in no time, hassle-free. Rosslyn Chapel is 4 miles away with lovely woodland walks in Rosslyn Glen, and Glencorse Golf Course is just 2 miles.
The Pentland Hills are a paradise for country lovers and walkers, and Glentress, near Peebles, 15 miles, has a superb range of mountain bike trails and there’s a treetop adventure waiting at Go Ape. Cyclists will enjoy the many local bike paths, including Roslin Glen. Peebles features some fabulous independent shops, restaurants and craft galleries, and for a change of scenery there’s easy access to the sandy beaches of East Lothian, the rolling Borders countryside and the Forth Bridge into Fife.
