Goose Green Cottage is a quaint, cosy, terraced cottage, with wonderful original features such as exposed stone walls, beams, low ceilings and feature stone fireplace. Georgian in design, the cottage has low doorways and narrow stairs offering unique charm and character, all spread out over three floors. Outside, the gritstone building has a fabulous castellated façade and can be found in the pretty area of Baslow, known as Nether End. The nearby narrow packhorse bridge provides a footpath with direct walking access to Chatsworth House and Gardens, where the owner can organise discounted tickets between 24th March and 31st October (not including special events, and by prior arrangement with owner). As a relatively large village within the heart of the Peak District National Park, Baslow benefits from convenient local amenities, including a selection of good, local pubs serving food, restaurants, one of which is Michelin starred, a post office and a cafe. As the first and largest National Park, the Peak District offers country lovers everything, from dramatic moorland and limestone crags, to soft rolling hills and wooded valleys. Whether it be Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton’s many caves or riding the cable cars at The Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, there is something for all ages. Pretty unspoilt towns and villages are within easy reach, such as the popular market town of Bakewell, the fascinating plague village of Eyam, or the spa town of Buxton with its fabulous opera house. If walking is your passion, you couldn’t be in a better place with Baslow being surrounded by magnificent countryside and excellent walking routes in all directions. Shop 2½ miles, pub 50 yards and restaurant ¾ miles.
