This cosy cottage style bungalow sits in a small row of similar properties in the grounds of the former Priory Hotel, a 15 minute walk into the nearby town of Windermere, and a half hour to Bowness (a little more via the National Trust path through Miller Ground). The cottage enjoys wonderful views across Lake Windermere: enjoy your morning coffee looking down as the mist clears above the tranquil water; relax with your evening meal watching the sun set over distant Wetherlam. The cottage shares well maintained grounds and direct access down a leafy lane to the lakeshore; here you can sit by the water and watch the swans and steamers go by.
Meregarth offers stylish and comfortable accommodation, all on one level, and is the perfect retreat for a couple, whatever time of year you choose to visit the Lakes. Although the open plan layout of the kitchen, dining and living area make this property ideal for self catering, guests may well be tempted by the wide range of restaurants and bars in Windermere and Bowness. Walk up to Windermere for an evening meal and the return to the cottage is a gentle stroll, downhill all the way.
