It is a Grade II listed building, which was originally built in the mid 1800s as the annexe to a large Victorian townhouse. The cottage is located adjacent to the imposing 15th century St Mary’s Church and close to the ancient timbered Guildhall and fine red brick Deanery Tower, ideal for wedding guests or as a really special retreat for the bride and groom. The ancient market town of Hadleigh has over 200 listed buildings, a wide range of independent shops, restaurants and pubs and is a good central base to explore the delights of Suffolk and Essex. Within a short drive are the picturesque villages of Lavenham, Long Melford (for NT properties), Kersey, Sudbury, Colchester with its castle and zoo, and Felixstowe for a day at a traditional seaside resort.
