The quieter resort of Filey is just a twenty minute drive away and has five miles of magnificent beach, a fine promenade and a quaint and unique coble landing. Culture lovers will delight in the numerous stately homes and gardens in the area, including Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and Sewerby Hall, all are well worth a visit, or why not follow the Hockney Trail through the stunning Wolds scenery that inspired his famous paintings? The RSPB nature reserve at Bempton Cliffs is home to huge numbers of seabirds, including puffins, razorbills and kittiwakes and is where you can enjoy a windswept walk on the clifftops to blow the cobwebs away.
