With footpaths and bridleways to explore right from the doorstep, access to the fells is easy and Beacon Tarn and Coniston Water are within walking distance. In the nearby village of Coniston you will find plenty of places to eat and shop, as well as things to see and do. The National Trust Steam Yacht Gondola on Coniston Water is a true taste of a by-gone era from where you can relax and enjoy the stunning surrounding scenery, plus historic Brantwood House, home of the Victorian artist and social thinker John Ruskin, is close by and here the beautiful gardens and ancient woodland are a real treasure. From Coniston the great outdoors awaits where you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, mountain climbing and gorge scrambling. If you prefer biking, Grizedale Forest has some excellent mountain bike routes, and can offer some excellent bike routes, and quiet rural roads.
